250-Line Screen

For your print projects that require the ultimate in high resolution screening, we offer you up to 250-Line Screen Printing. This screening provides the output of high screen rulings using low output resolutions. It offers the highest quality reproduction without the stringent process requirements of stochastic screening. With the same on-press latitude that you've come to experience with traditional 175-line screening, we can give you superior image quality with 250-Line Screen Printing.

Value for Your Goals

  • 250 lines per inch
  • Significant enhancement of image quality
  • Minimal rosette pattern
  • Smoother flesh tones, tints, and gradations
  • Superior highlight tone reproduction

At its core, 250-Line Screening takes advantage of the way human perception works with color and density. This is achieved through Multi-Template Technology. Multi-Template Technology is a completely new way of arranging halftone dots that are the size equivalent of 64-gradation dots within the smallest area the human eye can perceive. Rather than monolithic dots native to AM screening, in Multi-Template Technology each of the 64 dots consists of, for example, a 3 x 3 matrix that effectively increases the number of grey levels by a factor of nine. The result is that through the use of Co-Res Screening, we can achieve higher levels of gray. This yields markedly smoother images and gradations and greater image detail.

Moiré Suppression Technology

Generating 250 lpi halftone dots with lower resolutions can be susceptible to single-color moiré and patterning artifacts caused by conflicts with the screen frequency and scanning pitch. This problem is solved with powerful Moiré Suppression Technology that anticipates when and where single-color moiré will occur and alters the dot structure to effectively eliminate any noticeable moiré pattern.
